Create your first interactive map in Prevue
Where
Projects screen, then the Map and Points tabs
Build a working map with a background and a few interactive points, then open the visitor preview. You can do every step during your free trial; publishing a public map needs a paid project.
Before you begin
Have a background image ready, such as a site plan, masterplan, floor plan or aerial image. It also helps to know the names and availability of a few items, such as lots, apartments or berths. You can start with one item and add the rest later.
Steps
01Create a project
On the Projects screen, choose Create project, enter a project name and confirm. The project opens on the Map tab.
02Add a background
On the Map tab, use Add your first background, choose your image under Upload image or GLB and wait for it to load. While editing, scroll to zoom and right-drag to move around the plan.
03Create your first point
On the Points tab, add a point and give it a clear name and a status, such as Available, Reserved or Sold. Optionally add a description, price or images. A point that is not on the background yet shows Unplaced under Placed on. Add at least a short description or an image so the popup has something to show.
04Add a few more points
Add more points, give each one a distinct name and check its status. Three or four points are enough to test the map.
05Place your points on the map
On the Map tab, choose Add points, then drag each record onto its location, or select it and click the correct spot. For many unplaced points, use Rapid place points, which places them in table order. Use Skip for any point you're unsure about. Check that each marker sits on the right item.
06Preview the visitor experience
Choose Preview near the top right to open the draft viewer without publishing. Check that the background opens at a useful size, markers are in the right places, popups read well, details are accurate, and the zoom controls and Search & filter work. Edit records under Points or adjust positions under Map, then preview again.
Expected result
You have a draft map with a background and a few placed, clickable points that you can open in Preview. Keep adding records, improve point details and adjust the map's appearance before you publish.
Tips and limits
All changes saved confirms your edits are stored. Unpublished layout changes means layout edits haven't reached an existing live viewer yet. Point data changes go live automatically on an already published project, so check edits to live records carefully.
